Fibreglass Pool Prices

When investing money in a high-value asset, we normally begin researching prices. A value-adding asset like a swimming pool is no different, which is probably why you are after fibreglass pools prices.

When shopping around, keep in mind some brands really are better than others and sport unique features. Make sure you understand the differences between suppliers before deciding.

On average, expect to spend around $25,000. Small fibreglass pools can often be purchased for $10,000 and get higher depending on size, colour, quality and features. Kits generally include the fibreglass shell, pump, filter, chlorinator and other added extras.

Again, pool prices are important, but it is equally important to purchase a quality product, know what you want and set a budget by your highest threshold.

5 Important Pool Cost Considerations

  1. Size - ensure your pool size will fit comfortably in the desired location.
  2. Design - different swimming pool designs exist based on intended pool usage. For example, do you want to swim laps? Do you have kids where a shallow end or step along the outer edges would be suitable?
  3. Features - what pool features do you want? For example, perhaps you would like a waterfall, swim jets, pool heating or in-pool lighting? What about a spa area to help relax your muscles?
  4. Surroundings - what will your surrounding pool area look like? Do you want pavers, need a wooden deck, rock features, plants, or perhaps an outside change room?
  5. Installation - installing the pool yourself reduces your cost, but if inexperienced we highly recommend professional installation (read Pool Install: DIY or Professional? below).

Pool Install: DIY or Professional?

Fibreglass pool kits are great for DIY enthusists with the obvious benefit of a reduction in pool costs. However, the last thing you want to happen is to deal with rocks, have poor drainage, or risk ruining the pool getting it into place and having additional expense.

We highly recommend you budget for professional pool installer. Normally pool manufacturers have regional agents who arrange delivering your pool and provide a reliable pool contractor to install.

Installing the pool yourself provides you with no building insurance should something go wrong. Hiring an independant contractor who is licenced in your state is therefore much safer.

Finally, experienced professionals can install your pool much more quickly. Many suppliers can have your pool ready for swimming within a month and even state between 1-2 weeks.
